Events.com Snaps up Brown Paper Tickets And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/26/22

  • Events.com announced it has agreed to acquire Brown Paper Tickets, a payments processor for ticketing. Terms were not announced.
  • PayPal Holdings Inc. said Amazon.com Inc. has added its Venmo digital wallet as a payment method on Amazon.com and in the Amazon mobile app. Venmo on Amazon will be available to U.S. customers by Nov. 25 as its rollout commences, PayPal said.
  • Trigo, a startup developing technology for autonomous stores, raised $100 million in a new equity financing round led by Temasek and 83North. The funding will support development of autonomous urban supermarkets in Europe and the United States.
  • Innovative Payment Solutions Inc., a payments provider focused on the unbanked community, announced its IPSIPay App has reached 10,000 downloads since the launch of a marketing campaign in August.
  • Buy now, pay later provider Sezzle Inc. said more than 100,000 active consumers are enrolled in Sezzle Premium, a subscription service.
  • Human-resources technology provider Papaya Global said it has integrated payment-processing technology from J.P. Morgan for international payments.
  • Veem, a business-payments provider, said it has launched real-time wallet-to-wallet payments in more than 100 countries for both domestic and cross-border transfers.
  • Cubic Corp. said the Puerto Rico Highways and Transportation Authority will use Cubic’s Umo platform to update the fare collection system on its heavy rail and bus transit services.
  • Fintech Prepaid Technologies named Dave Smith chief revenue officer. Smith most recently was head of sales, onboarding, and relationship management at U.S. Bank.
