- Payments-technology developer Echelon Payments said it will expand into processing for non-profit organizations by working with Create.Payments, a payments provider specializing in that market.
- Nuvei Corp. said its partnership with Loop Global, an electric vehicle charging services company, now includes direct local acquiring capabilities for turnkey unattended EV charging terminals in Canada.
- Embedded-payments platform VoPay said it has extended its payments-orchestration service to include real-time payouts to PayPal and Venmo accounts.
- Cross River Bank launched its Advanced Authorization model, aimed at assisting fintechs and merchants in managing approvals for real-time transactions. Cross River, founded in 2008, said it has now exceeded the 1-billion mark in number of payment transactions processed.
- XTM Inc. said it closed on the $3-million sale of its QRails processing platform to Pateno Payments Inc., a transaction the parties announced in April. PayPal and Venmo together service more than 400 million active accounts around the world.
- Payments and data-security firm Bluefin Payment Systems LLC announced it will work with VGS Inc., a payment-tokenization platform, to support both digital and in-store payments flows.
- The U.S. Payments Forum released its Summer Market Snapshot with updates on agentic commerce, tokenization, and stablecoins.
- American Express Co. updated its Platinum Card with a $895 annual fee, up from $695. AmEx said the card carries more than $3,500 in annual benefits.
- A survey from Constructor and Shopify of more than 1,500 U.S., U.K., and German shoppers found that 64% have used generative artificial intelligence tools in their daily lives with 58% also saying they would be very or somewhat comfortable using GenAI on a retail Web site.
