eBay Payments Expands and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/20/20

  • In an update, eBay Inc. said it will expand its managed-payments platform later this year to Australia and Canada. The platform, which funnels payments to a variety of processors through a gateway provided by Adyen, has processed more than $2 billion so far for more than 25,000 sellers in the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
  • Bill-payment technology provider BillGo Inc. launched an online hub showing financial institutions and billers willing to work with persons unable to pay bills as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Wirecard AG said it has signed on to be a preferred payments processor for Visa Inc.’s Visa Fintech Fast Track Program in the Middle East. The program aims to enable new payment services from fintechs based on VisaNet, Visa’s worldwide network.
  • ACA International, formerly the American Collectors Association, issued a statement denying allegations that debt collectors are targeting consumers’ stimulus payments in their recovery efforts.
  • Gravity Payments said BabelBark Inc., a software developer for pet services, integrated the ability to collect payments for telehealth consultations using Gravity’s service.
  • CheckAlt said it will process remotely deposited checks captured using the Spare CS Inc. mobile app.
