Cyberint Warns About Prime Day Threat Traffic and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/12/19

  • Likening Amazon Prime Day, which takes place July 15-16, to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, threat-detection firm Cyberint warns that so-called threat traffic will run 30% higher than usual in the days leading up to, including, and shortly after Prime Day, in line with the volume experienced during the holiday season.
  • Spend.com, a digital-banking app that supports digital currencies, said it is working with Paxos, said to be the first regulated trust company for digital assets, to allow consumers to spend their cryptocurrency without having to first move it off of exchange platforms.
  • In related news, Pundi X, a blockchain-based device provider, said it has integrated its application with the Verifone X990 terminal to allow merchants using the device to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
  • Sound Payments Inc. said it will release its mobile point-of-sale product next week.
