- Bank issued credit cards were exposed to $994 million in synthetic identity fraud in the first half of 2023, up 8.4% from $917 million in the first half of 2022, said TransUnion. For retail credit cards the exposure of $126 million in 2023 was 12.5% less than $144 million in the first six months of 2022.
- Alipay, the China-based mobile-payments giant, said it is working with Visa, Mastercard, JCB, and Discover to promote mobile acceptance for international visitors arriving for the Asian Games, set for Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 in Hangzhou, China.

- RevoluGroup Canada Inc. named director Gavin McMillan as its interim chief executive, succeeding Steve Marshall, who left for health reasons. McMillan is a veteran fintech and telecom executive. RevoluGroup’s RevoluPay offers mobile-payments apps for Apple and Android devices.
