  • Authvia, a platform for conversational commerce and payment by text, will work with Sinch, developer of cloud-based customer communications, to allow businesses to offer mobile-payments capability within messaging platforms such as SMS and WhatsApp.
  • Shift4 Payments Inc. announced it is expanding its processing capabilities in the travel industry through an alliance with UATP, a worldwide technology network for travel companies.
  • The fintech marketplace PayToMe.co has been invited to join the AWS Strategic Startups Team at Amazon.com Inc. Through the membership, PayToMe will receive technical support from Amazon Web Services.
  • Global Payments Inc. has launched an update to its brand identity and logo. The move follows Global’s acquisition of FIS Inc.’s majority interest in the giant processor Worldpay.
  • PDX Global, which develops technology for cryptocurrency transactions, said its PDX Beam payments platform has begun hosting the $TRUMP token, a meme coin launched in January shortly before the inauguration of President Donald Trump.
  • Capital One Financial Corp. said it closed on its $35.3-billion acquisition of Discover Financial Services on May 17, a day sooner than originally announced.
  • ATM and payments firm Hyosung America has promoted Chris King to chief revenue officer. He was formerly senior vice president of sales, having joined the company in 2023.
