- American Express Co. announced its cards are now accepted at more than 190 million merchant locations globally, including 20 million added so far this year. Beyond its longtime base in hotels, restaurants, and airlines, AmEx says it is now accepted at an estimated 800-plus transit authorities globally.
- Chase said it has begun a phased rollout of its Data Security Center, aimed at simplifying customers’ understanding of how their financial information is shared with third-party apps. Chase is the U.S. banking business of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
- Valley National Bancorp said it has agreed to pay approximately $340 million to acquire Bluevine Inc., a 13-year-old developer of tap-to-pay tools and digital-banking technology with roughly 175,000 small-business clients. The purchase price includes 75% cash and 25% of Valley National common stock.
- As U.S. iGaming revenue continues to climb, AptPay announced a planned direct integration with Visa Direct, Visa’s faster-payments service, to launch Visa Direct Alias, a move aimed at supporting real-time payouts to eligible Visa cards. The move comes as U.S. sports-betting revenue last year reached $16.96 billion, up 22.8% from 2024, according to the American Gaming Association.
- Circle Internet Group Inc. will partner with payment firm Volante Technologies to aid banks in adopting stablecoin payment and settlement capabilities into their existing payments platforms.
- Paze, the digital wallet from Early Warning Services LLC, said it will be the official jersey patch partner for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association. Paze is succeeding PayPal Holdings Inc. as that sponsor.
- Adobe Inc. forecasted that U.S. online shopping sales for the Nov. 1 to Dec. 31 period will reach $275.1 billion, a 6.7% increase from the same period in 2025.
