  • Research from the processor Paysafe indicates strong interest in online betting during the 2026 World Cup, with 19% of consumers globally planning to place their first online bet during the tournament.
  • Block Inc.’s buy now, pay later service, Afterpay, said 96% of pay-in-four users who shopped during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday events paid off purchases early or on time.
  • Global volume for buy now, pay later transactions hit $342 billion in 2024 and is expected to exceed $580 billion by 2030, according to a report from RevitPay. That’s up from $2.3 billion in 2014, according to the report.
  • 2025 saw a 58% year-over-year increase in ransomware victims to 7,515, the highest full-year number recorded so far by Guidepoint Security, which released its fourth annual Ransomware & Cyber Threat Report early Thursday.
  • Bilt Technologies Inc. launched Bilt Card 2.0, a set of three credit cards that offer homeowners reward points on mortgage payments. The new product extends Bilt’s range beyond its longstanding market in processing and offering rewards on rent payments. Last week, POS terminal provider Verifone Systems Inc. said it will incorporate Bilt’s capabilities into its Victa line of Android devices.
  • In related news, the credit card platform Cardless announced its role as technology provider for Bilt Card 2.0.
  • Edenred Pay, a software provider for invoice payments, said it will include the business-payment network Paymode in its Edenred Pay platform. Paymode is a service from Bottomline Technologies Inc., a business-payments processor.
  • Atomic Insights, a payments provider for family offices and registered investment advisors, has raised $10 million in a seed-funding round led by Aquiline.
  • Meld, a digital-asset and stablecoin network, closed on a $7-million funding round led by Lightspeed Faction.
