DoorDash To Acquire Restaurant Tech Firm and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/1/22

  • Delivery platform DoorDash Inc. said it has agreed to acquire Bbot, a provider of online and in-store ordering and payments technology for restaurants. Terms were not announced.
  • A survey from PCI Pal of 1,100 Canadian consumers found that 85% said trust in an organization’s ability protect personal data and secure payment processes is of the utmost importance following a pandemic.
  • Wedo, a technology provider for the gig economy, said it is inviting freelancers and entrepreneurs to join an app coming out later that it says will support communication and payments.
  • Mercator Advisory Group released its “Processing Recurring and Subscription Payments Without Friction: A Key to Unlocking Transactions from a Forecasted $830 Billion Card Market” report.
  • The Electronic Transactions Association appointed Riaz Ladha vice president of industry affairs. Ladha comes to the association from payments provider NMI.
