Mitek Acquires Tech Firm and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/2/21

  • Mitek Systems Inc., a provider of digital identity-verification technology, said it has acquired ID R&D Inc., a provider of voice and face biometrics technology, for up to $49 million in Mitek stock and cash.
  • Payments processor Fleetcor Technologies Inc. closed on its acquisition of cross-border payments specialist Associated Foreign Exchange Inc. The deal, announced in September, was originally expected to close in the first quarter. Terms were not announced.
  • Back-office software provider Bill.com closed on its $2.5-billion acquisition of spend-management technology provider Divvy Inc.
  • Buy now, pay later platform Divido Financial Services Ltd. raised $30 million in a Series B funding round led by HSBC and ING. The funding will be used to support international expansion.
  • Payments platform Adyen NV has expanded its local acquiring services to the United Arab Emirates.
  • Strategic Insurance Software LLC said it has integrated digital-payment capability from ePayPolicy into its Partner Platform agency-management system to allow insurance agents to accept premium payments via a Web site or mobile app.
  • Bitcoin Association, a cryptocurrency industry organization, released an update that includes push notifications for both iOS and Android devices.
  • Payments provider Veem expanded its domestic payment services for businesses to Canada under the Veem Local Canada brand.
  • Financial data technology provider MX Technologies Inc. named Shane Evans its first president. Evans will oversee sales and marketing and other aspects of the company. He joined MX in 2019 as its first chief revenue officer, having previously worked at Qualtrics, developer of customer experience technology.
  • Deluxe Corp. named Scott Bomar senior vice president and chief financial officer. Bomar comes to the company from Home Depot Inc. Deluxe on Tuesday closed on its $960-million acquisition of payments provider First American Payment Systems.
