VeriFone Engage Marks European Launch and other Digital Transactions News briefs

• ATM network owner and operator Cardtronics plc announced an expanded relationship with Carnival Cruise Line that adds Cardtronics ATMs to the crew areas of Carnival’s 25-ship fleet and makes Cardtronics Carnival’s exclusive ATM provider for both guests and crew. Cardtronics will have two ATMs for passengers and two for crew on each ship.

• Terminal maker VeriFone Systems Inc. said its Verifone Engage countertop product line has launched in Europe with an installation in Germany.

• Maxim Integrated Products Inc. announced the MAX32560 DeepCover microcontroller, which integrates into a single chip such functions as memory expansion, contactless interface, mag-stripe interface, and battery-switch functions. This saves circuit-board space and certification time for designers of mobile point-of-sale devices, according to the company.

• Payment gateway USAePay announced a partnership with IVR Technology Group that enables merchants to offer a variety of phone, text, and Web-based payments applications.

• Commerce platform provider Shopify Inc. announced Trevor Oelschig, who joined the company’s board of directors in 2010, resigned from the board, but did not disclose why.
