Maverick Picks Findustry AI and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/13/26

  • Findustry AI, an artificial intelligence platform specializing in payments, said its Chargeback Agent program is available for merchants processing with Maverick Payments. Chargeback Agent helps merchants automatically collect evidence from merchant systems, interprets card network requirements, builds the rebuttal, and submits responses, reducing the time to respond to a chargeback and potentially increasing the merchant’s likelihood of countering it.
  • Banking technology provider Matera released an open source version of the ANSI X9.150, Merchant-Presented QR Codes for Secure Payment standard. This follows the July release of its own software compliant with the standard.
  • The average monthly spend among all cardholders examined by the JD Power 2026 U.S. Credit Card Satisfaction Study has risen $109 year-over-year to $1,167, while the proportion of customers regarded as “financially unhealthy” increased to 60% from 56% a year ago. American Express ranks highest for customer satisfaction in the study, which examines issuers with more than 1 million active accounts, excluding cobranded cards.
  • Payments provider Klarna AB is offering more perks and higher cash-back offers in 11 European countries, with the U.S. to follow later, the company says. Among the changes is removal of all service fees and new rewards that can total up to 6,000 euros ($6,921) annually. Klarna also announced Housecall Pro, a field service platform, will make Klarna’s BNPL options available to its users.
  • Payments-technology provider Modern Treasury said its platform has started to process payments via physical and digital checks, adding to the ACH, wires, FedNow, RTP, push-to-card, and stablecoin payments the company handles.
  • American Express Co. added new features to its virtual card programs for commercial customers, including the ability to create, manage, and use virtual cards in @Work, the card brand’s software platform they can use to manage their corporate card program. Additionally, those customers with an Amex Business Travel account with Virtual Payments can similarly use Conferma’s virtual card platform.
  • Flex, a rental payment platform that enables tenants to split rent payments, said its service is integrated into each listing on Apartment List.
  • Diversified Data Processing & Consulting Inc., also known as DivDat, a provider of payments processing for utilities and health care, announced it has acquired Meridian Integration, a developer of customer-engagement software. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Cedar, a digital billing platform for medical care, introduced its Kora Platform, a set of AI agents programmed to collect payments from patients.
  • The PCI Security Standards Council announced the members of its 2026-2028 Global Executive Assessor Roundtable.
