Isaacman Finally Gets NASA OK and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/18/25

  • Former Shift4 Payments Inc. chief executive Jared Isaacman was approved by a U.S. Senate vote of 67-30 to take over as administrator at NASA, the top position at the U.S. space agency. President Trump renominated Isaacman for the job in November after quashing his original nomination in May.
  • Payments platform PSQ Holdings Inc. said its Payments and Credit Business processed $7.8 million in gross merchandise volume over the four-day Black Friday through Cyber Monday period, up 536% from $1.2 million for the same period last year.
  • Buy now, pay later platform Sezzle Inc. said more than 200,000 users have completed more than 1 million MoneyIQ lessons in less than a year. MoneyIQ is Sezzle’s financial-literacy program.
  • The Canada-based digital-asset custodian Balance has expanded its reach into the U.S. market with the acquisition of Digital Value Transfer Rails Inc. (DVTR), a digital-asset custodian and money transmitter. Terms were not announced.
  • Canada-based processor Nuvei Corp. said it received a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license under the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation of the European Union.
  • Apple Inc. announced updates to its apps in Japan, including the ability to pay for digital goods and services outside of the Apple In-App Purchase function.
  • Zoho Corp. launched new finance and operations software, including Zoho Billing Enterprise Edition, aimed at large companies and intended to streamline billing and payments.
  • Fiserv Inc. said it has closed on its acquisition of StoneCastle Cash Management, a move that, according to Fiserv, enables the company to offer the insured-deposit network needed to manage the fiat reserves backing stablecoins. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
  • U.S. Bank said three more partners have joined its Avvance point-of-sale lending platform—KabelSync, Strictly, and United Credit. The program allows merchants to offer financing for customers’ purchases.
