Indra’s New Toll Collection System and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/29/25

  • The I-485 express lanes in North Carolina are the first U.S. highway to adopt connected tolling, allowing in-vehicle devices to collect tolling information and make payments, according to system provider Indra Sistemas S.A.
  • Consulting firm Infosys Ltd. said it is working with Mastercard Inc. to offer what the parties say is enhanced access to Mastercard Move, a set of money-movement services for both domestic and international transfers.
  • Payments processor Fortis Payment Systems LLC unveiled a FortisPay extension for Adobe Commerce, offering a range of payment options for business-to-business payments, including e-check, ACH, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
  • A study released by billing-technology firm InvoiceCloud Inc. finds that 56% of U.S. citizens are struggling to pay “essential” monthly bills on time. The survey, conducted by Dynata LLC, polled 1,000 U.S,-based consumers last month who were 18 years old or older.
  • NextGen Digital Platforms Inc. has agreed to invest $300,000 for a 4.286% interest in Centi Ltd., a stablecoin payments company. The deal includes an exclusive license allowing NextGen to deploy Centi’s platform in North America over the next 60 months.
  • The U.S. Payments Forum released “Contextual Payments Considering Artificial Intelligence, 5G, and Internet of Things,” a white paper looking at how recent technologies are affecting commerce.
  • The U.S. Faster Payments Council announced its 2025 Board Advisory Group.
