- VersaBank USA started a pilot for its USDVBs, tokenized versions of actual cash deposits at the bank. The move follows a similar pilot by the bank in Canada. VersaBank says it will seek a non-objection statement from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency before launching the product commercially.
- Thread Bank, which offers digital banking services, announced it will adopt Finxact, real-time core-banking technology from Fiserv Inc.
- Corpay Inc.’s payments technology has been embedded in technology from SKsoft, an independent software vendor, in an effort to create a single utility allowing users to process cross-border payments.
- Earned wage access provider Instant Financial has joined with payments platform Payouts Network to offer a service that allows employees to switch earned wages to an existing bank account in real time.
- Payments-technology startup Payment Labs raised $3.25 million in a seed funding round led by Aperture Venture Capital.
- Payments platform PayNearMe said it has opened an office in Dallas, representing a third location for the company in addition to offices in Santa Clara, Calif., and Holmdel, N.J.
- Former MoneyGram International chairman and chief executive Alex Holmes has been appointed to the board of Bitcoin Depot Inc., whose kiosks allow users to convert cash into Bitcoin.
