- The NFC Forum, a global standards body for near-field communication technology, issued Release 15, which extends the range of certified compliant NFC contactless connections up to 2 centimeters, four times greater than the current standard 0.5 centimeters.

- Vantage West Credit Union said it has launched a buy now, pay later program for its credit card customers. The program, available through the institution’s digital-banking service, is managed by equipifi Inc. In 2022, equipifi raised $12 million in Series A funding to launch its BNPL platform aimed at financial institutions.
- Electronic Verification Systems has launched AssureLocate, a geolocation-verification service to verify users’ locations in activities such as online gaming.
- SaturnX, a startup specializing in stablecoins for cross-border payments, closed on a $3-million seed-funding round led by White Star Capital.
