- Nearly 42% of breaches suffered by major fintech companies stem from third-party vendors, according to “Defending the Financial Supply Chain: Strengths and Vulnerabilities in Top Fintech Companies,” issued by Security Scorecard, which analyzed 250 major fintechs.
- The processor FIS Inc. said it will work with Letskipp Ltd., also known as Kipp, to develop a solution for nonsufficient funds authorization for debit card clients.
- Shift4 Payments Inc. announced another extension of its $2.5-billion cash tender offer for Europe-based processor Global Blue Group Holding AB. This is Shift4’s second extension since the Feb. 16 agreement.
- The big processor Worldpay said it is expanding operations in Latin America by offering domestic acquiring in Colombia. The company, which will soon become part of Global Payments Inc., processes for merchants in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.
- The Knickerbocker Hotel will use hospitality-payments specialist ROH to automate payments processes including contracts, deposits, and card authorizations.
- Relay Payments, which specializes in payments for the trucking industry, launched Relay Pulse to help trucking fleets control fraud in fueling transactions.
- Payments-technology platform Payload will work with real-estate software provider Lone Wolf to launch LW Pay, a payments-management service for brokerage offices.
- Apple Federal Credit Union has worked with equipifi Inc., a provider of buy now, pay later technology for financial institutions, to launch PayAdvantage, a BNPL service. The credit union claims 270,000 members and $5.3 billion in assets.
- Fraud-prevention provider AU10TIX warned of a new fraud method it calls “repeaters,” used by fraudsters to test small variations of a picture, image background, document number, or other characteristic before launching a full-scale attack.
- Visa Inc. announced general availability in the U.S. market for Visa AR Manager, technology that allows companies to automate virtual card transactions. At the same time, Visa also unveiled Visa Commercial Integrated Partners, aimed at improving technical links between fintechs and Visa’s commercial platform.
