49ers’ Home Levi’s Stadium Going Cashless and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/6/20

  • Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers National Football League team, will transition to cashless when fans are able to return to the venue, the team announced. Card and mobile payments will be used for concessions, merchandise, and other purchases. The stadium is the first fully contactless-enabled NFL venue, the team said, and has almost 600 contactless point-of-sale terminals.
  • Factor4 LLC, a provider of gift and loyalty card software, said it has reached an agreement with payments provider Clearent LLC to provide its services to Clearent merchants.
  • Payments provider Shift4 Payments Inc. and Agilysys Inc., a software vendor for the hospitality industry, announced they have extended an agreement under which Agilysys integrates payment processing from Shift4.
  • Payments gateway NMI launched ChipDNA Cloud, an application programming interface that makes it easier for developers, independent sales organizations, and merchants to integrate EMV and contactless payments in their software.
  • MoneyGram International Inc. announced a three-year extension, until March 2024, of its money-transfer services agreement with Walmart Inc.
  • Fintech Tipalti Inc., a provider of payables software, said it raised $150 million in a Series E round led by Durable Capital Partners. The funding valued Tipalti at more than $2 billion.
  • Alacriti, a digital-payments provider, said it is linking to The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC’s Real-Time Payments network to enable faster payments for client financial companies.
  • F5 Networks launched Shape AI Fraud Engine (SAFE), an artificial-intelligence product it claims stops fraudulent online transactions that get past “existing fraud tools.”
  • Perk Labs Inc., owner of loyalty-management platform Perk Hero, appointed former Alipay Canada head of business development Daniel Zou as chief operating officer.
