- On average, U.S. consumers will spend $500 on holiday purchases this season, found the TD Bank Merry Money Holiday Spending Survey. Most consumers could overspend. In the past, 76% of respondents said they overspent their past holiday budgets by an average of $263.
- Rakuten Marketing said its sales in the three-day period from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, increased 21% from the same period a year ago.
- Middleware provider Datacap Systems Inc. said it completed EMV level 3 certification with Moneris Canada.
- The city of Sylvia, Kan., now accepts payment card and electronic check payments over the counter and online via KanPay Counter, a payment-processing service from the Information Network of Kansas Inc.
