- Shift4 Payments Inc. said it will provide point-of-sale services at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball team, and at Gallagher Way, the entertainment district adjacent to the ballpark.
- American Express Co. announced new and beefed-up benefits to mark the 60th anniversary of its gold card, including quintupled membership rewards points on prepaid hotels booked through AmexTravel.com or AmEx’s travel app. The card’s $325 annual membership fee remains unchanged.
- Better Home & Finance Co. launched its Better Home Equity Card, offering a prepaid debit feature funded by a secured home-equity line of credit. The card is supported by technology from Stripe Inc.
- WEX Inc., best known for its fuel card programs, said it will use services from Extend to enable WEX corporate card customers to connect their WEX commercial accounts within Concur Invoice and settle vendor payments with virtual cards. Extend specializes in virtual card payments and Concur is a travel management spend platform.
- CRB Group Inc., the parent company of Cross River Bank, a technology provider for the payments industry, said it appointed Evan L. Russo to its board of directors. Russo most recently was chief financial officer at Lazard Asset Management.
- Payments-technology company FreedomPay Inc. appointed Mike Farrell senior vice president of global enterprise accounts and David Mathena senior vice president of engineering. Farrell joins the company from Subway, where he was head of global payments and fraud prevention. Mathena arrives from Priority Technology Holdings, where he was executive vice president of engineering.
