Quadpay in Vyze Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/31/20

  • Point-of-sale credit provider Quadpay Inc. said it is working with Mastercard Vyze, the card brand’s alternative financing platform, to make buy-now-pay-later options available to more merchants and consumers.
  • Noting the increasing popularity in Canada of Square Inc.’s Cash App and PayPal Holdings Inc.’s Venmo app in the face of that country’s Interac bank-to-bank transfer network, Vancouver, British Columbia-based Mogo Inc. announced its finance app will add a peer-to-peer payment service in the first quarter next year.
  • The city of Rockville, Md., is the latest municipality to adopt mobile-parking payments from ParkMobile. The app will be available at more than 500 on-street, metered spaces in the city, which is replacing MobileNOW!, a rival mobile service that shut down in May.
  • In related news, ParkMobile rival Passport Parking said the town of New Bedford, Mass., is launching its app for more than 1,400 on- and off-street parking spaces.
  • Repay Holdings Corp. announced it is working with CU*Answers, a credit union service organization, to provide integrated card processing and automated clearing house services for credit unions.
  • Payments provider Usio Inc. said Ernesto Beyer joined its board of directors. Beyer currently is the Latin American market manager of Xcoal Energy & Resources, a global coal marketing and logistics company.
