Q2’s Real-Time Payments Move and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/21/25

  • Technology provider Q2 Holdings Inc. announced Open Payment Network is its first partner to offer integration for Q2 Instant Payments Manager, a product aimed at banks looking to manage real-time payment workflows.
  • Canada-based payments provider Corpay Inc. announced its cross-border platform has become the official foreign-exchange partner to the New Zealand Football club.
  • Klear.ai, an artificial-intelligence platform for the insurance industry, said it will work with payments-automation company Carepay to allow claims payments through the automated clearing house, virtual cards, or checks on a single platform.
  • Reborn Coffee Inc., which operates 11 coffee shops in California, said it plans to run a pilot for cryptocurrency acceptance at select locations this year. The initiative is an outgrowth of a previously announced digital-asset strategy, the company says.
  • Velera, a payments credit union service organization, launched Digital Asset Lab to help credit unions looking to adopt stablecoins.
  • Wyoming officials announced the state is the first U.S. public entity to issue a blockchain-based stable token, the Frontier Stable Token, or FRNT, aimed at persons, businesses, and institutions.
  • In-vehicle deployment of payment technology is “making a comeback,” according to the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study. In the survey, some 62% of surveyed drivers said they want the feature, with common uses including payments for charging, fuel, parking, and tolls. The research canvassed 76,230 owners of new 2025 models after 90 days of ownership.
  • GoDaddy Inc. launched GoDaddy Capital, a merchant cash-advance feature available for the small and mid-size businesses that use GoDaddy Payments. The new feature offers quick loans up to $1 million, the company says.
  • Payments company Deluxe Corp. has named Michelle Collins to its board of directors. Collins is a retired partner of Deloitte.
