OneDine Signs California Pizza Kitchen for Payments Tech at 100-Plus Locations

California Pizza Kitchen has signed with restaurant-technology provider OneDine LLC to deploy its platform in more than 100 CPK locations in the United States.

The deal is a reminder that restaurant point-of-sale and management technology is one of the hottest acquiring markets in digital payments.

OneDine’s platform, which the company says is compatible with existing POS systems and is processor-agnostic, supports tableside ordering, payments, loyalty, and gift-card programs through staff-operated tablet computers. OneDine’s menu-management tool enables real-time synchronization and centralized control of menu content across all locations. Transactions are processed using EMV and tap-to-pay technology.

Restaurant customers can also use the tablet to provide feedback through real-time surveys. Managers can be immediately alerted to any negative customer experiences, which provides an opportunity to address issues before customers leave the restaurant, OneDine says. Between 60% and 70% of restaurant guests complete the survey, according to OneDine’s Web site.

Providers of restaurant point-of-sale and management technology continue to enhance their offerings as restaurants remain one of the hottest markets in digital payments.

That competition spurs providers to compete on features. OneDine says its platform supports integrations with loyalty and gift card providers to enable tableside accrual and redemption of rewards, as well as enrollment in loyalty programs. Restaurant staff can use the tablets to sell and activate gift cards tableside, as well as activate promotional or bonus cards in real time. Processing gift card activation requests at the table reduces the risk of fraud and ensures transactions are verified, logged, and reconciled instantly, the company says.

One point of differentiation with OneDine’s platform, the company says, is that it allows individual guests to enroll, earn, and redeem loyalty rewards without the need to split checks. This capability provides restaurants with more accurate behavioral insights and preserves true average-check metrics, Plano, Texas-based OneDine says.

“By partnering with California Pizza Kitchen, we are helping redefine the guest experience and drive profitability,” OneDine founder Rom Krupp, says in a statement. “Our platform brings speed, accuracy, and personalization in one seamless experience.”

Other restaurant chains deploying OneDine’s platform include The Cheesecake Factory, Dave and Buster’s, and Mendicino Farms.
