Notch A Credit Union Win for Payroc

Already known for its payment-processing services to merchants, Payroc LLC has added Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, with its more than 100,000 members, as a payment-processing client.

Announced Monday, the partnership sees Tinley Park, Ill.-based Payroc serving the credit union’s business clients with point-of-sale systems, online payments, electronic invoicing, and other services. Lowell, Mass.-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union was founded in 1912.

In addition to credit and debit card processing via Payroc, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union also is enrolled with the Federal Reserve’s FedNow and The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC’s RTP instant-payments networks.

Payroc has set small businesses, likely many of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s business clients, as part of its growth strategy. Embedded finance and larger merchants are also included in Payroc’s path to growth, James Oberman, Payroc’s chief executive, told Digital Transactions News in December.

Akin to the Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union deal, Oberman in December relayed that one of Payroc’s bank clients had a client who accepted unattended payments and needed POS equipment services for that. Payroc was able to help, he said.

Payroc also made a move into service businesses with Roc Services, which allows Roc Services business owners to perform cataloging, item entry, and invoicing through a mobile app or on a desktop computer. The technology can schedule appointments, send invoices, and collect payments in the field or in offices.
