  • Payments provider Moneris Solutions Corp. launched Moneris Core, software that will run its new Verifone and Ingenico countertop devices.
  • Point-of-sale software developer SpectrumSoft Inc. selected Electronic Payments and its TableTurn restaurant-management platform as a preferred vendor for payment-processing services.
  • Business-to-business e-commerce payments provider Resolve Corp. announced that it has spun off from fintech lender Affirm Inc. Resolve has an automated platform that gives buyers 30-, 60-, and 90-day repayment terms.
  • A survey by Oracle Food and Beverage of 279 dining-industry executives indicates an “undercurrent of anxiety” about the future as only 48% say they have the technology they need to meet customers’ future mobile demands.
  • Payments-technology provider Network Merchants Inc. (NMI) announced the appointment of three new executives and the move of long-time executive Nick Starai into the role of chief strategy officer.
  • ZipLine Inc., a specialist in mobile and card-based loyalty and payment services, hired Greg Strzegowski as senior vice president of corporate development. He previously worked at Fleetcor and WEX.
  • A European payments provider, myPOS, announced the launch of a new point-of-sale payment device, the myPOS Go, which sells for 29 euros, or $32.50.
  • An analysis by the British government’s National Cyber Security Centre of passwords hacked in data breaches found that 23.2 million victim accounts worldwide used “123456” as the password.
