Merrick Relaunches Ollo and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/1/25

  • The credit card issuer Merrick Bank has re-launched its Ollo credit card with a refreshed design and new technology. The card was first issued in 2017 as a product for U.S. consumers facing challenges in obtaining a credit card.
  • Valor PayTech, a 5-year-old provider of point-of-sale technology for merchants, announced it has received a strategic investment from funds managed by private-equity firm Lovell Minnick Partners. The move represents the first time the company has raised institutional capital.
  • Zeni Inc., a financial platform based on artificial intelligence, has launched its Visa-branded Zeni Business Debit Card, offering 1.75% cash back on all transactions and relying on AI to categorize and reconcile each transaction, the company says.
  • Payment-data security firm Bluefin Payment Systems LLC said it will offer its point-to-point encryption technology as part of the Orbipay payments software from Alacriti Inc.
  • Newegg Commerce Inc., a seller of technology products, said it has enhanced its store credit card with a 4% discount on purchases at checkout.
  • Blackhawk Network announced it will launch a gift card mall in the Google Play Store, which serves more than 2.5 billion monthly users in more than 190 markets.
  • Mesta, a cross-border payments provider using both fiat and stablecoin currency, raised $5.5 million in a seed round led by Village Global, with participation from Circle Ventures and Paxos.
  • Corporate card platform Brex Inc. said it will launch a capability for instant balance payments using stablecoins.
  • Mastercard Inc. launched Mastercard Commerce Media in an effort to leverage its transaction data to aid in advertising for an existing base of 25,000 advertisers.
  • Payments provider ACI Worldwide Inc. appointed Todd Ford and Didier Lamouche to its board as independent directors. Ford most recently was president at Coupa, a business-spend management company. Lamouche most recently was chief executive at IDEMIA, a provider of identity products.
