Mastercard’s deal with Safari.com and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/20/24

  • Mastercard Inc. has agreed to a partnership with Safari.com, an Africa-based telecom company, to promote payment acceptance and cross-border payments in Kenya.
  • The Sling Money money-transfer app announced a capability that allows users to load, send, or receive stablecoins while interacting with other wallets or with exchanges.
  • In related news, software developer Envoc said it will work with Bead Pay, a network provider for digital assets, to add cryptocurrency as a form of payment for services provided by the state of Louisiana.
  • AtoB, a payments-technology platform for the transportation industry, announced it received $130 million from a Series C equity and debt funding round led by General Catalyst and Bloomberg Beta, with participation by Mastercard Inc. and firms in the trucking and logistics industry.
  • Tech investor and former Google and Yahoo executive Bradley Horowitz has joined the board of directors at the digital-currency platform Circle.
