- Point-of-sale platform Lightspeed Commerce Inc. narrowed its first-quarter loss to $2.4 million from $49.6 million a year prior. Lightspeed reported its fiscal first quarter earnings ended June 30 with $322.7 million in revenue, up 5.8% from $305 million a year ago. In 2025, Lightspeed embarked on a two-pronged POS-based plan to improve its performance.
- Fundraise Up, a 9-year-old fundraising and checkout platform, introduced Tap to Donate, which allows staffers or volunteers to collect donations on a phone or iPad at events such as walkathons or luncheons. Nonprofits with early access to the feature reported a 24% increase in average gift size compared to devices previously used, according to Fundraise Up.
- Embedded-payments provider Payabli has announced Amigo, an AI agent that the company says provides real-time transaction data and instant answers to payments questions.
- Payments-technology developer WEX Inc. announced its SecureFuel platform is generally available to clients. Using fleet card transaction data and other AI models, the technology aims to stop unauthorized fuel purchases.
- DNA Payments introduced DNA Engage, a service that allows consumers to scan a QR code shown on a POS terminal to access a receipt as well as promotions, surveys, social-media links, and offers. The technology is provided by Taployo, a provider of interactive digital receipts.
- A Synchrony survey found that 50% of consumers have or will apply for financing options for their summer purchases. The survey had responses from 900 U.S. adult consumers.
