Klarna’s Agentic Commerce Move and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/15/25

  • Buy now, pay later provider Klarna AB said it now supports the Agentic Product Protocol, enabling merchants to help make their products discoverable to artificial intelligence agents.
  • Fintech i2c Inc. said it will work with Cross River Bank and Sightline Payments on a payments ecosystem for the U.S. gaming industry. Their first product will be Sightline Debit.
  • Payouts platform MassPay Holdings LLC said it is incorporating Visa Inc.’s Visa Direct faster payments rail to speed payouts to cards, bank accounts, and digital wallets.
  • Datacap Systems Inc. released PayLoader, a service that manages multiple point-of-sale terminals across multiple locations.
  • PNC Financial Services Group received regulatory approvals needed for its proposed acquisition of FirstBank Holding Co., which includes the banking unit FirstBank. The deal, in which PNC will pay approximately $4.1 billion in cash and stock, is expected to close Jan. 5. The payments and digital banking capabilities at FirstBank are expected to be among the first services integrated with PNC, the latter said.
  • Some 85% of U.S. persons favor passage of the Payment Choice Act of 2025, which would require most businesses with a physical store to accept cash, according to a survey of 5,570 persons conducted in three waves from May through October by the Payments Choice Coalition.
  • Bitcoin Bancorp Inc. announced it plans to install as many as 200 Bitcoin ATMs in Texas, starting in the first quarter next year.
  • Visa Inc. launched its Stablecoins Advisory Practice, aimed at counseling banks, fintechs, merchants, and businesses on “market fit, strategy, and implementation.” Visa says its settlement volume in stablecoins has grown to $3.5 billion annualized.
  • The U.S. Payments Forum released its “Mobile & Digital Wallets: Updated U.S. Landscape and Strategic Guidance” white paper.
