July Sales up 11.2% And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/4/22

  • Mastercard Inc. said July retail sales increased 11.2% from July 2021. E-commerce sales were up 11.7% and in-store sales increased 11.1% for the same period.
  • Payments provider ACI Worldwide Inc. reported $340 million in revenue for its June quarter, up 13% year-over-year.
  • In related news, ACI’s Speedpay will integrate with the Vindicia platform from technology firm Amdocs to offer subscription merchants faster time to market and better customer retention.
  • Fiserv Inc. said insurer State Farm expanded its Digital Pay service for claims payouts, which uses Fiserv’s Carat technology, to include PayPal accounts.
  • Plastiq Inc., a business-to-business payments platform for small enterprises, has agreed on a plan of merger with Colonnade Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company, in a deal that will take Plastiq public and result in a combined company with an implied enterprise value of approximately $480 million.
  • The e-commerce platform GoDaddy Inc. reported 80% of Websites+Marketing commerce clients plus 30% of Managed WordPress users have adopted GoDaddy Payments, the company’s payments-technology arm.
  • Nancy Disman has joined payments provider Shift4 Payments Inc. as chief financial officer, effective Aug. 5. Disman most recently was CFO for Intrado, a global technology company, and before that held executive positions at payments companies TSYS, Cynergy Data, and First Data.
