Ingenico Debuts Android mPOS Device and other Digital Transactions News briefs

Terminal maker Ingenico Group introduced its first Android-based mobile point-of-sale payment device, the APOS. The portable terminal includes a front and rear camera and accepts payments based on EMV, mag-stripe, and near-field communication.

Cubic Transportation Systems announced it has been awarded a $4.8 million contract modification from the Maryland Transit Administration to upgrade the MTA’s fare-collection system to enable mobile payments and other new payment methods.

Diebold Nixdorf announced Australian processor Cuscal Ltd. is experimenting with beacon technology on its ATMs and software in Cuscal’s lab in Sydney.

Epson America Inc. said Zapper, a mobile-marketing and payments platform, has certified the Epson OmniLink TM-T88V-i smart printer and TM-m30 POS receipt printer, both of which are intended for restaurants.

The Electronic Transactions Association announced the first 10 participants in its YPP Scholar Program for young payments professionals.

Visa Inc. launched a program with the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education to provide financial advice to veterans.
