Global ATM Cash Withdrawal Volume Grows and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/18/17

  • Visa Inc. fired one of its most prominent executives, Jim McCarthy, executive vice president of innovation and strategic partnerships, Dec. 1 because of inappropriate relationships with female Visa employees, according to The Wall Street Journal; theJournal said Visa launched an investigation into McCarthy’s actions after CEO Alfred Kelly received an anonymous email this fall saying McCarthy had been involved in romantic relationships with women at Visa.
  • Global ATM cash-withdrawal volume grew 6% in 2016, according to research firm RBR.
  • Ondot Systems, provider of a transaction-alert service for banking customers, said the most popular alerts are for fraud on credit, debit, and prepaid cards, with 55% using these alerts.
  • NACHA, the automated clearing house governing body, released its ISO 20022 Validator Tool to help validate aspects of the ISO 20022 messaging standard, which enables more information to be sent with ACH transactions than the current format supports.
