Gas Pump Maker Launches Retailer EMV Program and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/18/18

  • Fuel-pump maker Gilbarco Veeder-Root launched an exclusive EMV dispenser program for Chevron and Texaco retailers as the petroleum industry prepares for the 2020 EMV liability shift.
  • Petroleum Card Services said the Oklahoma Petroleum Marketers & Convenience-Store Association named it as a payment-processing referral partner for its members.
  • Garmin International Inc. launched its fenix 5Plus series of smart watches for athletes. The devices include the company’s Garmin Pay contactless-payment system.
  • Wells Fargo & Co. said it fixed weekend debit card processing problems in which some customers reported they couldn’t use their cards for purchases or other transactions, according to press reports, and then some transactions were double-posted.
  • Dollar Bank, said to be one of the first financial institutions in the United States to offer online banking, will adopt services  from Fiserv Inc. supporting electronic bill-presentment and payment, the Zelle person-to-person payment network, and account-to-account transfer capability.
