Flywire Tenders SEC Filing for Possible IPO and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/12/21

  • Payments provider Flywire Corp. has submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1 to the Securities and Exchange Commission in support of a proposed initial public offering.
  • The Children of Restaurant Employees nonprofit is meeting pandemic claims from displaced restaurant workers via grant disbursements on gift cards from Blackhawk Network. Prepaid and gift card processor Blackhawk said it has delivered more than $250 million on hundreds of thousands of cards since the start of the pandemic a year ago.
  • Business-to-business payments provider Multi Service Technology Solutions, known as MSTS, has renamed itself TreviPay.
  • Technology firm Thales said India’s Axis Bank is using its compact contactless payment technology, Thales Gemalto FlexiTag, to enable payments on wearables such as payment bands, keyfobs, and loops.
  • Telecommunications software provider Tangoe launched Bill Pay+, a bill-payment service for businesses. The new service relies on processing by B2B payments processor Vendorin Inc.
  • Bill-to-mobile payments provider Boku Inc. and sports-streaming platform DAZN have launched a mobile-payments platform that lets 80 million NTT Docomo subscribers buy DAZN subscriptions with their mobile number.
  • Nacha, the automated clearing house rulemaker, said the ACH system is prepared for the direct deposits that will stem from the recently passed American Rescue Plan Act. Nacha estimates the direct-deposit tally could near 100 million.
