- As 2025 nears its end, the Federal Reserve’s FedNow real-time payments service now has almost 1,600 participating financial institutions, including 70% of the country’s largest banks, the Fed reported. Transactions have reached nearly 30,000 daily, according to the Fed. FedNow launched in 2023.
- Domain-name registrar GoDaddy Inc. launched its ANS Marketplace and new AI agents in an effort to help build trust in agentic commerce. ANS is GoDaddy’s identity naming system for AI agents.
- OnePay, a platform offering credit cards, point-of-sale lending, and other services, said it has joined Google Inc.’s Agent Payments Protocol, aimed at boosting trust in agentic payments among consumers and merchants.
- More than 85% of U.S. citizens favor laws that would require businesses to accept cash, while 84% oppose a completely cashless society, according to a Siena-Payment Choice Coalition survey this year cited by ATM manufacturer NCR Atleos Corp. The research surveyed 5,570 U.S. residents.
