- Online merchant and payments provider Amazon.com Inc. reported North America net sales of $78.8 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up 20% year-over-year. International sales, however, dipped 5% to $27.7 billion, largely due to an unfavorable impact from foreign exchange rates. Net income totaled $2.9 billion, down from $3.2 billion in the year-ago quarter.
