Magnolia Soap & Bath Co. will adopt the Square point-of-sale system for its 50 locations, including a module designed for franchises.
Founded in 2016, Magnolia uses the franchise model to expand and has stores in 17 states. It will use Square for Retail, a service that includes branded micro-sites for each location that enables online ordering, same-day pickup, third-party delivery, and event bookings. Square is a unit of Block Inc.
New Albany, Miss.-based Magnolia also will use Square for Franchises, which will track reporting and key performance indicators across all Magnolia locations. Square for Franchises launched in 2023. Magnolia also will use the Square Kiosk in stores. Square says the standardized payments and hardware technology will make it easier for each franchisee to launch and roll out the Square service.

“We use it in every aspect of our business, from pulling KPIs and coaching franchisees, to managing inventory and processing transactions day-to-day. Having that visibility across all of our locations has been critical as we scale,” Magen Bynum, Magnolia founder, says in a statement.
Retailers accounted for the second largest percentage of contributors, at 17%, to Square’s gross payment volume in 2025, according to Block’s annual report. Food and drink sellers generated the highest at 35%. Third, at 10%, was beauty and personal care sellers.
