Aurora Payments Bulks up With Its Deal for the ISO One Payment

Aurora Payments LLC, which specializes in integrated-payments technology for small to medium-size businesses, has acquired One Payment, a Florida-based fintech payment company, for an undisclosed sum.

One Payment services more than 6,000 merchants, with a focus on minority-owned small and medium-size businesses. The company processes more than $1 billion in payments annually.

The acquisition, which Aurora expects will diversify the company’s distribution channels, will boost its merchant portfolio to more than 27,000 businesses and $12 billion in annual processing volume. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Aurora specializes in servicing quick-service restaurants, retailers, and service industries.

“One Payment adds significant value to Aurora, with its roots on the East Coast, and accelerates our diversified go-to-market strategy,” Aurora Payments chief executive Brian Goudie says in a prepared statement.

Prior to founding Aurora Payments in 2017, Goudie spent more than a decade at First Data Corp. in a variety of positions, including sales, acquiring, and partner development.

In January, Corsair Capital, a private-equity firm focused on investments in the financial services, payments, and software industries, acquired a majority stake in Aurora Payments for an undisclosed sum. The transaction builds on Corsair’s experience investing in and supporting growth at payments operations, including REPAY Holdings LLC, TreviPay, and Currencies Direct.

In August, Corsair Capital acquired Chosen Payments, which Aurora partnered with in 2018, along with BlueSquare Resolutions LLC, a provider of electronic payment solutions including prepaid cards and online billing. The alliance led to the creation of a parent company, Aurora Solutions.
