AmEx Issues 50 Grants and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/25/25

  • American Express Co. and the National Trust for Historic Preservation announced 50 restaurants will each get a $50,000 grant plus one year of free service from Resy, an AmEx company. The grants are part of the Backing Historic Small Restaurants program.
  • Payments provider TouchSuite said it acquired a majority ownership in STG, a point-of-sale and payments provider. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Australia-based cross-border payments platform Send Payments raised $5 million in a funding round led by Regal Funds Management and Kelly+Partners. The funding comes as the company appointed former Mastercard executive Matt Barr as chief executive, replacing Paul Billing, who resigned for personal reasons.
  • The state of Texas has contracted with technology firm CGI to replace several state financial systems with an enterprise resource planning platform that is expected to process billions in payments for the state.
  • KuCoin, a blockchain platform, announced its Anti-Phishing Month campaign, including user education, incentives, and technology defenses to fight phishing, a form of online fraud.
