- Chargebacks911 released a set of tips for retailers about managing buy-online, pickup-in store fraud.
- VersaPay Corp., a provider of electronic invoice presentment and payment, said its shareholders overwhelmingly approved acquisition of all outstanding common shares by 1233518 B.C. Ltd., an affiliate of private-equity firm Great Hill Partners. Shareholders will receive $2.70 Canadian ($2.04 U.S.) for each share.
- Payments firm Flywire Payments Corp. announced the acquisition of Simplee, a healthcare technology platform. Terms were not disclosed. Flywire also announced a $120 million Series E funding round led by Goldman Sachs.
- Spain-based multinational bank Banco Santander has hired Trish Burgess, a former Apple Inc. executive who worked on the Apple Card and Apple Pay products, for the new position of head of peer-to-peer payments. In addition to a previous stint at Santander, Burgess also has worked at PayNearMe Inc., Visa Inc., and BNP Paribas.
