- Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) said it purchased iMobile3, which provides point-of-sale and digital marketing services for payments companies to market to merchants, for an undisclosed amount.
- Chip maker NXP Semiconductors N.V. announced a collaboration with Mastercard Inc. and Visa Inc. with the launch of the NXP mWallet 2GO, a white-label wallet service. Montblanc, maker of luxury fashion accessories and pens, is the first company to launch its own mobile wallet, called the TWIN smart strap, using mWallet 2GO.
- The Chicago Tribune reported that Amazon.com Inc. picked downtown Chicago as the location for two new Amazon Go stores in which shoppers with smart phones and Amazon payment accounts leave the store with their items without the need for scanning and paying for them at a checkout counter. Another Amazon Go store is coming to San Francisco.
- Payments provider BlueSnap Inc. named Chris Menard chief financial officer. Previously Menard was executive vice president and CFO at Cayan LLC.
