Aurora Rebrands as Flute and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/1/26

  • Aurora Payments has renamed itself Flute and launched a payments platform that it says offers working capital, transaction reporting, and merchant servicing, along with payments, in a single account.
  • Thunes said it has been selected by Canada-based payout platform Trolley to enable an expansion of Trolley’s international capabilities, including real-time payments to more destinations.
  • OpenPayd, a money-movement platform based on both fiat and digital currency, said it will become a public company through a merger with Titan Acquisition Corp., a special-purpose acquisition company. OpenPayd will trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol “OP.”
  • Some 83% of U.S. bettors indicate they are likely to use cryptocurrency to back bets with online sportsbooks, according to research from Paysafe, a payments provider. The research canvassed 2,550 persons of legal gambling age in nine U.S. states in March.
  • Processor Nayax Ltd. announced the launch of a proprietary AI engine it says allows merchants to make product recommendations to online and in-store shoppers in real time.
  • Alpha Modus Holdings Inc. said persons holding the Alpha Cash Prepaid Mastercard can access the Mastercard Public Transit Benefit, which returns $2.50 per month to cardholders who use contactless payment for transit in 11 major U.S. metro markets.
  • Coinstar LLC is allowing users of its kiosks to insert cash or coins to fund transfers to an account linked to any eligible debit card through an expanded partnership with TabaPay and Evolve Bank & Trust, an open-banking provider. The parties say the program, available now, will ultimately be live at more than 10,000 U.S. Coinstar machines.
  • Payments platform PSQ Holdings Inc. announced it has nominated James Celli for election to its board of directors as an independent director. It also said it is not renominating current member Nicholas Ayers for a board seat.
