Caesars Sportsbook Adds a Digital Wallet to Its Betting App

Caesars Sportsbook is rolling out a universal digital wallet for its mobile betting app that will allow Nevada-based users to fund their wagers directly from their smart phones or tablets. Users will also be able to manage their funds and Caesars rewards through the wallet and track their activity across the 19 other states in the country where Caesars Sportsbook operates. To activate the wallet, users must visit a physical Caesars location before placing bets.

Advantages of digital wallets for sports-betting apps include the ability for bettors to make deposits and withdrawals, which eliminates the need to re-enter payment information each time they want to place a bet or access their winnings, thereby minimizing friction, according to Caesars.

Users 21 and older with a verified Caesars Sportsbook mobile account in Nevada can use the wallet at a Caesars location in-state or when traveling to any state where the Caesars Sportsbook mobile app is live by signing in with their login credentials. Other states where Caesars Sportsbook operates are Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Wyoming.

In addition, consumers residing outside of Nevada who have an existing Caesars Sportsbook mobile account can use the wallet in Nevada, after validating it in-person at any Caesars Sportsbook location in Nevada.

“The launch of our universal wallet in Nevada is a significant step forward and a long-anticipated enhancement that brings greater convenience and connectivity to our mobile app,” Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, says in a statement. “With this update, sports bettors who visit Nevada and our world-class destinations on the Las Vegas Strip or beyond can enjoy a consistent experience wherever they go, with their account, funds, and rewards all in one place, just as it should be.”

Other casino and entertainment companies introducing digital wallets to their sports-betting apps include BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain Holdings.
