- SoundHound AI Inc. said of the 94% of U.S. consumers who use voice assistants while driving or have voice assistants available 77% would rather place their orders using an in-car voice assistant rather than wait in a traditional drive-thru lane. The survey, conducted by research firm Big Village, included responses from 1,210 U.S. drivers in mid-March.
- Canada-based payments provider Nuvei Corp. said it has taken membership in the European Payments Initiative and will be one of the first processors to support e-commerce merchants looking to accept the EPI’s Wero digital wallet at checkout.
- Billtrust, a digital-payments platform, announced Billtrust Autopilot, a digital assistant based on agentic artificial intelligence for accounts receivable processing.
- AAA Life Insurance Company has chosen One Inc’s PremiumPay service as its chief platform for digital payment processing.
- Canada-based Transactix Financial Inc. announced a payments platform aimed at processing units of value, including fiat and cryptocurrency as well as points and credits, at what it says is less cost to users than is the case with existing networks.
- TreviPay said its Pay by Invoice service has been adopted by Albertsons Companies Inc. to support lines of credit at its stores for businesses, governments, and schools. Albertsons’ grocery chains include Albertsons, Safeway, ACME, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Star Market, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb and Randall’s.
- Bitcoin Depot, a deployer of some 8,400 Bitcoin kiosks in North America, reported March-quarter revenue of $164.2 million, up 19% year-over-year on what the company called “increased kiosk deployment and higher median transaction size.” Net income totaled $12.2 million, a swing positive from a year-ago-net loss of $4.2 million.
- Risk-management provider EverC launched Smart Scan, a risk-assessment service that uses artificial intelligence to review marketplace for policy violations and illicit product listings that also helps payments companies to review potentially risky actions by their merchants in marketplaces.
- Pavilion Payments appointed Lori Lawson chief operations officer. She has led gaming operations at the company since 2021.
- Financial services provider Wescom Financial named Cristobel von Walstrom vice president of payment systems. Her previous roles include positions at Mastercard, Retail Payments Global Consulting Group, and Synchrony.
