VeriFone Notes Australia Post Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/16/18

  • Shell Oil Co. and General Motors Inc. announced Shell stations across the United States now accept in-dash fuel payments following tests earlier this year. Shell Pay & Save, available within the GM Marketplace on certain Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles, enables consumers to pay for fuel and earn and redeem Shell loyalty points from the vehicle’s infotainment system.
  • VeriFone Systems Inc. said Australia Post, which provides postal, banking, and retail services, is deploying the terminal company’s M400 device across 3,600 post offices. The terminal includes support of payments via wearables and mobile devices.
  • Merchant acquirer Square Inc. says it can now process chip card transactions in just two seconds on its Square Reader product.
  • PSCU, a credit-union service organization, announced Linked Analysis, a program that uses machine learning and information across accounts to predict fraud, has led to “an exponential increase in fraud blocked” since the processor installed the system in April.
  • Agilysys Inc. said Ellis Island Hotel, Casino, and Brewery has adopted its InfoGenesis point-of-sale system, along with its rGuest Pay payment solution.
  • Pushpay Holdings Ltd., which provides electronic payments capability to more than 7,000 churches globally and 55 of the 100 largest in the United States, announced product updates and a brand refresh that consolidates several Pushpay marks.
  • E-commerce platform FastSpring launched a plugin that allows online businesses using WordPress to more easily operate stores on the system.
  • Discover Network reported J.D. Power ranked the Discover card highest for customer satisfaction for the fourth time in five years.
