LevelUp Reaches Open Dining Agreement and other Digital Transactions News

• ICBA Bancard, the card-processing unit of the Independent Community Bankers of America trade group, said it will offer member banks a card-not-present authentication service through Visa Inc.'s CardinalCommerce subsidiary.

• Mobile-payment provider LevelUp has reached an agreement with Open Dining, a vendor of mobile order-ahead technology, to list restaurants using Open Dining's platform in the LevelUp and Chase Pay apps.

• The Shazam electronic funds transfer network has agreed to make its Secure Solutions set of risk and compliance solutions available to bank and credit union clients of the ePayAdvisors consulting firm.

• First Data Corp. said it is expanding to businesses impacted by Hurricane Irma a relief program that includes free Clover Go mobile card readers. The company first offered the program last week in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

• NACHA, the governing body of the automated clearing house network, lauded the U.S. Department of the Treasury for its decision to participate in the same-day ACH service.

• Datacap Systems Inc. announced it completed EMV level 3 certification for the VeriFone VX 820 point-of-sale terminal with Chase Paymentech Canada.

• Point-of-sale system maker Squirrel Systems announced the implementation of EMV payments using Merchant Link's gateway at the Copper Cellar Restaurant Group's Calhoun's restaurant.

• The X9A Retail Payments subcommittee of the Accredited Standards Committee X9 Inc. is recruiting members for a project to create a standardized glossary of terms related to distributed-ledger technology. The project is expected to start next month.

• The Electronic Transactions Association said that Elizabeth "Liz" Ryan, executive vice president and wholesale merchant services segment executive at Wells Fargo & Co., has joined its board of directors.
