- U.S.-based cross-border payments provider dLocal said it has added three major Chinese payment systems—WeChat Pay, AliPay, and UnionPay—to its platform. The three account for more than 70% of the Chinese market, according to dLocal.
- In related news, Flywire Corp., which recently expanded its cross-border payments business to include business-to business transfers, announced it has added PayPal as a payment option in Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
- USA Technologies Inc., a vendor of contactless-payment systems for vending machines, said its Cloud Connect application programming interface will help kiosk provider JuiceBot process cash, card, and mobile-wallet transactions.
- The West Edmonton Mall, which houses approximately 800 merchants in Alberta, Canada, is switching from a network-branded gift card to a private-label card, said EML Payments Europe Ltd., provider of the new service.
- Payments provider BlueSnap Inc. said it now offers SEPA Direct Debit as a payment option for merchants.
- Azul, a payment brand in the Dominican Republic, has launched Azul Go!, a mobile-payment acceptance application based on a mobile point-of-sale platform from Charge Anywhere.
- Risk-control technology provider Kount Inc. named Kody Kraus chief financial officer. Kraus has been vice president of finance. Prior to joining Kount in 2012, Kraus had been a consultant to the company.
