TouchSuite Buys American Bankcard and other Digital Transactions News briefs

• TouchSuite, a merchant-services company operated by American Bankcard LLC, announced it purchased Merchant Bankcard Systems of America, which has approximately 1,000 merchants in its portfolio. Terms of the deal, which closed Feb. 7, were not disclosed.

Middleware provider Datacap Systems Inc. said it completed level 3 EMV certification with processor Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) for Ingenico Group’s line of Telium 2 point-of-sale terminals.

Target Corp. has no plans to roll out Apple Inc.’s Apple Pay service in its stores although it will continue to support Apple Pay purchases within the Target mobile app, MacRumors reported. Target reportedly plans to launch its own mobile-payment service later this year, according to Reuters.

ATM manufacturer Diebold Nixdorf said president Eckard Heidloff will resign effective March 31, and the company named Juergen Wunram, senior vice president and chief integration officer, as chief operating officer. Wunram, who will be based in Germany, also was appointed to Diebold Nixdorf’s board of directors.

A telephone survey of 3,205 leaders of small and mid-sized businesses in 15 countries for American Express Co. found that 54% of the U.S. executives are optimistic about the global economic outlook over the next 12 months, although 60% of respondents said they face difficulties in getting financing to grow their businesses.
