- Cryptocurrency-technology platform MoonPay Inc. said it will support payments by users via cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo to fund their Zengo Wallet, a cryptowallet said to be used by more than 2 million persons and businesses in more than 180 countries.
- Tai Software, which develops automation technology for freight brokers, said it has introduced its HaulPay Freight Payment Wallet, backed by HaulPay, a digital finance and payments service for freight finance.
- SumUp Inc. introduced its SumUp Terminal in the U.S. market, a handheld mobile device combining point-of-sale payments acceptance and business-management tools.
- The payments fintech Forage Technology Corp. said it is supporting SNAP EBT benefits for Uber Eats when used for purchases from more than 325 participating Save A Lot supermarkets. Save A Lot claims about 700 stores in 30 states.
- The “2025 Emerging Biometric Authentication at the Point of Sale Scorecard” from Javelin Strategy and Research identifies three best-in-class entries: Verifone Inc. for a biometric identity and payments platform; J.P. Morgan Payments for an end-to-end solution; and Wink Inc. for biometric authentication as a service.
- Villas of Distinction, a network of luxury villas, said it will offer cash back on bookings in the form of Visa prepaid cards, with the value depending on the total booking charge and with a $2,000 maximum. The offer is good for those who book a villa Nov. 23 to Dec.6 for travel through Dec. 31.
- Bitcoin Depot Inc., operator of a network of more than 9,000 bitcoin-dispensing machines in 47 states, promoted president and chief operating officer Scott Buchanan to chief executive, replacing founder and CEO Brandon Mintz, who will continue as executive chairman of the 9-year-old company. The move is effective Jan. 1. At the same time, the company appointed former Square and Intuit executive Elizabeth Simer chief operating officer.
