Finastra, a London-based payment software provider, has added an ACH module to its Global PAYplus end-to-end payment processing solution. The new module will provide financial institutions with an alternative to legacy ACH processing systems, which can be less efficient and have limited scalability. With the addition of an ACH module, Global PAYplus provides financial institutions a single hub through which to process ACH transactions, wire transfers, and real time payments.
The module was built using modern a technology stack that will help financial institutions deploy “a forward compatible solution to streamline ACH processing, reduce operational complexity, and meet evolving regulatory and customer demands,” Finastra says.
Built on cloud-native microservices and Kafka-based event streaming, Global PAYplus provides advanced risk and compliance controls, including exposure management, Positive Pay, and integration with fraud and OFAC systems.

Cloud-native microservices are applications built by decomposing them into small, independent, and loosely coupled services that run on cloud platforms. Kafka-based event streaming captures, processes, and routes real-time payment events, such as transactions, updates, and analytics, to downstream systems to enable real-time fraud detection, instantaneous account updates, and enhanced customer experiences.
“Global PAYplus represents an improvement to ACH infrastructure, which will continue to be a critical component of payments infrastructure for financial institutions moving forward,” a Finastra spokesperson says by email. “Historically, [ACH systems have] been seen as rigid, siloed, and expensive to maintain. Global PAYplus’ cloud-native architecture and real-time processing capabilities enable banks to adapt quickly to regulatory changes and market demands…scale and modernize their payments infrastructure while continuing to deliver resilient, secure, and efficient ACH processing.”
Other features of Global PAYplus include advanced risk and compliance controls, such as exposure management, validation, monitoring and pre-funding. Global PAYplus also leverages Positive Pay, a fraud mitigation service for ACH transactions, as well as integration with fraud and OFAC systems that screen whether a payment is going to a company or individual sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
“By enabling reliable high-performance processing, real-time insights, and transparent payment services, Global PAYplus helps banks optimize operations, reduce costs, and deliver the reliable services their customers expect,” the Finastra spokesperson adds.
